name

(c) Rewe - Rewe's little thing
That's me and the best cat ever, Pekko. My friend Rewe drew this for my boyfriend because today is his name day. This also slightly refers to a dream Rewe saw. In that dream I told her that my boyfriend(-to-be) is my girlfriend. Happy name day dear

Here's also plenty of me, lol. All credits go to my little sister(s).

rad

Hello to you all!

Our school will have a 80's styled party this Thursday so I thought that I could write a little about my love towards the crazy decade. I haven't been into this 80's stuff for long, maybe one or two years inactively so don't expect me to be some awesome 80's master who knows everything...

I don't know what's so great about the 80's, something just draws my interest. I like to find out what kind of clothes teenagers used to wear that time, I like to watch 80's movies, I like to know about... well, everything related to the 80's. I think it began with my other hobby, VHS collecting. (I could write about it as well, ohoho~)

And yeah, I mainly focus on the USA's decade but I try to find out about other countries as well :---D

This site has been a real golden treasure chest and Holy Bible for me: Like Totally 80s
It has so much info and personal experiences that you just have to love it!

Also this has helped me a lot with my movie-watching: The 80s Movies Rewind
...but I'm sure even that page lacks movies so please recommend good 80's movies for me! Any movies!

This is how I'll look on Thursday. I might put a little more makeup (if I find my eyeliner...!) and tease my hair more.

Quality sucks. Click the photos to enlarge!

I don't have money to buy new clothes for just one event so I'll just go with what I already have on my closet. I'll wear my fake Converses as well. (since my real ones are dirty D: ) People tend to dress in neon colors and aerobic clothes and other ugly stuff and that bugs me a little since 80's fashion is much more than that! You could be punk! Or preppy! I'm not saying neon colors are a bad choice, it's just a little uncreative. An easy choice.

By the way I was shocked because I heard Kanye West and Jay-Z's Otis today at H&M. First I was like "Cool! They're playing "Try A Little Tenderness!"" and then the rap part came and I was like... Like... I gotta tell you, if I were on a little more sensitive mood I would've cried! The rap artist have rap(p)ed too many songs... Why am I so emotional about this? Because the lovely Duckie sang that song to Andie in the movie Pretty in Pink and it's one of my favourite movie scenes ever. So thanks a lot West & Jay-Z. u___u

Ps. I found a zebra under our kitchen table today.

...I told my roommate not to bring him to our place but she brought it anyway. I don't think animal skin looks good on our floor. Or anyone's floor. Or anyone's coat. u___u

"Hi! ♥ I'm Seppo. Please treat me as your own daughter. ♥"

...So now I have to eat with my roommate AND a dead zebra. Yay.

notice

Hi to you who shall not pass!

Sneak peek! I'm knitting a scarf for my boyfriend. My goal is to knit 10cm per day and so far everything's going smoothly~ I had a little trouble getting things started because last time I knit was in elementary school (I think.), and that's almost six years ago.

I finally managed to pull myself together and decorate my calendar! "Elontahti" means "The Rate of Life". I just wanted to be more... "creative" and use some nice words instead of just plain "calendar".

I painted the cover for Elontahti black and smudged my floor. So uhm, I started writing random words because I felt like it. Thank God I wiped it away pretty soon, otherwise it would've stuck there :'D (I didn't clean up my desk in time and now it has ink stains... And the desk is not mine =_=;;)

My boyfriend and his friends are amazing. The princess of Sweden, Victoria, and her husband Daniel visited Finland this week. My bf and his friends had composed a song about Daniel quite some time ago and they played it to the royals - twice. The second time made it to the publicity and a couple of internet magazines wrote little articles of them. Vickan and Daniel seemed to like them a lot :D

Here's a link to the video.

ps. Our Pack started a website/blog about our musical and other stuff, feel free to read it ! http://hopeanuolimusikaali.wordpress.com/

BONBORUUU!!

...I've watched 14 episodes of Hanasaku Iroha in two days so I'm pretty hyped :'D There's something in HanaIro that makes me wanna watch it. There's no big plot, nothing over-dramatic and I don't have absolute favourite characters or anything... I just like watching it. Two more episodes to go! Please air them soon! : D

...also please make Ohana&Ko a pair ;~~;

leaves like butterflies

Hi!

It's funny. At the same time I feel like I don't do anything or I don't have any projects but when I stop to think about it I have lots of stuff to do. I also have my two little autumn traditions... : D

This autumn

- I'll draw autumn the third (can't wait ! : D)

- I'll do my "Poetess' October 2011"- diary. (last year I did it only halfway, this year I'll try making it the best so far. (I've done this since 2009.)) Basically I write a poem each day about daily happenings for the whole October. This year I may want to illustrate it as well. I came up with this idea myself but later heard that other people have done this before. Oh well.

- I'll watch a whole anime series from the beginning to the end! I sit in front of the computer but rarely finish any series. This year I've managed to watch Kaiji and Ginga: Nagareboshi Gin. I have three episodes left of Ika Musume (season 1) and today I started watching Star Driver since my friends talked about it. Me & KiBi are also planning to watch Ginga Densetsu Weed together. I also need to watch Hanasaku Iroha!! I like it but I forgot to watch it every week so I'm faaar behind with the episodes.

- THIS WEEKEND! I'll spend it with my lovely pack of dogs ♥ Our musical group (well, some of it) will get together and watch lots of musicals ^^ (Moulin Rouge for example... Even though I don't care about it much.) Also, we have to talk about certain things ; D

Some of our brave dogs. Please click to enlarge! ♥ Photo (c) Emilia Lahtinen

- AND NEXT WEEK! ...I'll finally see my boyfriend... I've been melancholic because I miss him. KiBi ♥ ; _ ;

- And I'm part of a roleplaying campaign each Friday!

- I have a larp in three weeks... Can't wait for more info!

- And and and and I have at least three theatre projects in school plus one which I am planning. : D

Oh. So much to do. : D I have to finnish Watership Down as well... I still love the book even though I've only read half of it : D I ALSO HAVE TO DRAW MORE, RAAAAAR. (Instead of only complaining about it, I should just shut my computer and draw.)

Random pieces from my drawing diary for school. Some of them made with heart, others... Well... :'D

I love all kinds of projects more than anything, but I tend to lose heart at times and feel like I can't do anything. I try my best to keep a smiley face!

smother

How do you do.

I baked cinnamon buns today! 40 total, but only 39 survived 'til the end. Today was such and grey and miserable day. I was feeling down and I thought that I could bake... Yeah.

Also, I went through some photos JiiBee took from our musical. It made me feel so much better.

Random dance after the actual show. We ♥ Kokoro no Kiba!
Father & son moment with crazy huskys : D
Partying in Hokkaido-style!

Well, that's about it for today.

Olen taas kattanut lautaset kahdelle huvikseen vaan,
vaikka tiedän, että kolmeen viikkoon et oo kotonakaan

life is musical

It's over.

Yet I don't feel like it's over. Our musical I mean. Our long-term project, Hopeanuoli!musikaali. (Ginga: Nagareboshi Gin!musical/Silver Fang!musical).

Last Friday everything was a complete mess. Our microphones didn't work, we had problems with lights and timing the music, the head of our Akakabuto kept on dropping, the cardboard bears were unfinished... To cut a long stroy short: we didn't have a decent, complete dress rehearsal.

So, on Saturday afternoon we tried the cardboard bear battle, we didn't have time to go through the whole musical. I sewed the head of Akakabuto with our Wilson and we didn't have time to test it on stage.

Then the workers let the audience in. I had checked before, there was quite a line behind those doors. After the show I heard that every seat was taken, the VIP balcony was full, people were even standing there and in the end of the rows, some even sat on the stairs even though it was forbidden and still, over 50 people (some say over hundred, some even more...) couldn't get in.

When it started I was nervous. Nervous if the audience would like the musical or not. But when they clapped hands after our opening choreography I knew we couldn't fail. So the musical went on and everything went almost perfect. After the ending, the audience clapped their hand for like six minutes straight and I was just... overwhelmed. The audience gave us so much strength I can't even describe it!

In the middle of the great battle against Akakabuto I saw Yoshihiro Takahashi in the front row. The creator of Ginga series. The world-famous Takahashi-sensei. After the show, he suprised us by visiting the backstage, telling us that he had cried and then he took many photos with us and shook our hands. It was such an honor.

Whole crew with Takahashi.

Many people asked why we only had one show and why we were in the small hall when there was a big one. We got loads of compliments and I haven't heard a single comment which was completely negative. And this was truly heartwarming: some little girls waited for an hour to get an autograph from our Gin.

During this time, from December to September, our group has overcame difficulties, made new friends and some even call us their "mental family". I started dating my very dear friend and I think all thanks go to this musical and Rewe. (I was always like "NOOOO I'm never gonna start dating him, we're good as friends" :D But things happened, hahaha! I'm glad.) But I bet we all are going to stick together, some more, some less, but still. Many things await us in the future and nobody can tear us apart, nobody can tear apart Hopeanuoli!musical! Auuuuu~

You can watch the whole musical on YouTube (Finnish only).

Avaan ikkunan
hengitän sisään maisemaa,
niin täydellistä, että pelottaa.
Pelkään että aika ajaa meidät erilleen.
Mitä sitten teen,
mitä sitten teen?
Eikä ajatella sitä kuka on kenenkin,
että meillä kaikilla on kotikin.
Toisilla on joku, joka siellä odottaa.
Nyt ei kukaan muista,
eikä tahdokaan.

Kiitos.
